These Terms and Conditions cover the sale of Orientque products contained on this website and promotions run by Orientique. Our privacy policy regarding your personal information will also be explained in this section.
Please read through these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the website. By using this website and placing an order with Orientique you are agreeing to the Terms and Conditions detailed below.
Orders
All orders that you place with this website will be subject to acceptance in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
All orders are subject to availability.
On placing your order online we will immediately send you an ‘acknowledgement of order’ email indicating that your order has been received, the items ordered, payment total and that we are checking availability of stock. Please note that this email is not an order confirmation or order acceptance from us.
Quantity and description of your order will be as set out in the ‘acknowledgment of order’ email.
Acceptance of your order takes place before dispatch. We will inform you once your items are ready to be dispatched from our warehouse.
Upon placing an order, all purchasers shall be advised on an estimated lead time. The estimation shall be in no form binding upon Orientique and shall at no point be a condition of any contractual obligation with purchasers.
Selected Accessories can be pre-ordered and will be dispatched once the goods have been received into our warehouse and quality checked.
Orders containing both 'in stock' accessories and 'due in' accessories will be sent in two parts with in stock items delivered within 3-5 working days of the order and any items to follow sent later. Full payment must be taken for goods to be pre-ordered.
Due to the rustic effect of much of the wood we use and the handmade quality of the home accessories, each piece is likely to be slightly different in measurements, appearance, colour and finish. Dimensions may differ by up to +/- 3cm from the sizes given and an item delivered from our warehouse may differ in character from a similar item viewed online. Products may also vary from shipment to shipment. To avoid disappointment on the day, please bear this in mind when ordering.
You are responsible for checking that all details and aspects of your order are correct and suitable for your requirements, including measurements, quantities, dimensions, product features, colours and textures.
We reserve the right to refuse delivery to any individual or company.
We reserve the right to discontinue products.
Delivery
Once an order has been placed, we will endeavour to advise our customers, within 24-48 hours, of the approximate delivery date. We will always try to deliver the items to our customer as soon as possible. However, due to a shared stock system implemented between the UK and The Netherlands, we cannot offer next day delivery.
Delivery charges vary depending on the total amount ordered and the delivery destination. Delivery charges can be found below.
Delivery charges
International Delivery
- We currently offer deliveries to the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom and Wales.
- If your country is not listed above, please note that we are happy to accept orders from all over the world. Please contact Customer Services by email for more information; customerservice@orientique.co.uk
- Please note that if items are taken overseas our standard terms and Conditions and guarantees do not apply.
- Please also note that returns, replacements and refunds, if agreed, will only be made to or from a UK mainland address.
- UK retailers are not legally obliged to refund VAT for purchases made by Channel Island or overseas residents who are exporting the items to an overseas address.
- Because of the level of administration involved, Orientique’s policy is not to refund VAT on such purchases.
Cancellations and Amendments
- You have the right to cancel your order at any time before your order has begun to be processed. If your order has been, or is being, processed, please follow our returns procedure (as detailed below).
- We will try to accommodate any changes you wish to make after your order has been placed, but, given that your order will be processed immediately on receipt, we cannot guarantee this. If you do wish to make an amendment to your order, please contact customer services.
- ‘Bespoke items' - Made to Order items, Special orders and Antique sourced will be subject to a 100% cancellation charge. (this is for any reason e.g. Item not suitable/item not fitting into property). It is the customer’s responsibility to check measurements. Made to order items are clearly labeled as such on the product page online.
Product Descriptions
- Every effort is made to ensure that the products we supply correspond as closely as possible shown in our catalogue or online, but due to the handmade nature of many of our products there might be slight variations. No responsibility can be accepted for these variations. These could include, but are not limited to, slight differences in texture/wood type or colour, shades of fabric or dimensions of products.
- Please bear in mind that computer browsers may present colours slightly differently.
- We reserve the right to make changes to our products or product ranges at any time.
- Although reclaimed aged wood is used in the manufacture of the Products in order to minimise cracking, the customer accepts that some cracking or splitting over time is inherent to the nature of the traditional materials used and does not constitute a defect in the product of any kind.
- Photographs shown on the Orientique’s Web site and catalogue are for illustrative purposes only, and may not exactly match the product itself.
- All measurements shown on the Orientique’s Web site and catalogue are approximate.
Prices and Payment
- Prices include VAT and exclude delivery charges.
- Prices on our website supersede prices published in other or previous publications.
- All prices are correct at time of going to press. We reserve the right to alter prices either up or down, including any variations to the rate of VAT.
- Full payment must be made before any product is dispatched from our warehouse.
- All payments taken by phone or online are taken in a secure environment.
- We accept most credit and debit cards including: Visa, MasterCard, Visa, Delta, Switch or American Express.
- Payment can also be made by Orientique gift cards. Gift cards are valid for 18 months from date of purchase.
- All ‘Van delivery' orders are subject to a 100% or 50% deposit at the time of order.
- ‘Bespoke items’ - Made to order items (whether supplied from stock or not)Special orders and Antique sourced carry a 100% cancellation charge. Full payment is required at point of order. Customers are responsible for checking that all details and aspects of your order are correct and suitable for your requirements, including measurements, quantities, dimensions, product features, colours and textures.
Returns
We make every effort to ensure that goods arrive with you in good condition. The wood used in our product often has a rustic look making each item slightly different in measurements, appearance, colour and finish. We will not exchange items on a ‘like for like’ basis purely on the grounds of the character or colour of the wood.
For all returns please contact us on returns@orientique.co.uk and we will endeavour to instruct you further.
In the rare event that an item arrives faulty or damaged please contact our Customer Service department on 0845 0539377 or customerservice@orientique.co.uk and we will arrange to collect the damaged item and organise a replacement or full refund.
- If for any other reason you are unhappy with any item, please return the item(s) along with a completed returns form within 14 days of receiving the goods. Providing the item(s) are still in a completely saleable condition and in their original packaging, we will issue a full refund.
- Refunds will be issued to the card which was used to place the order once we have received the item(s) back in our warehouse and could take up to 14 days to reach your bank account.
- The cost of returning goods is your responsibility and the item(s) are your responsibility until they arrive at the warehouse. We therefore recommend obtaining a proof of postage certificate before sending.
- We cannot accept liability for goods lost or damaged in transport. Please note that we do not offer a free returns service, refund the return postage cost or the original delivery charge.
- Items which are returned which were purchased with a promotional offer or discount will be refunded less the value of the discount.
- We do not offer returns or refund on ‘Bespoke items’ – Made to order items and Antique sourced.
Distance Selling Regulations
Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 the Buyer has the right to cancel an order and receive a full refund for any item or service, with the exception of bespoke, special order or personalised items. Buyer can cancel the order within seven working days following receipt of the goods or the date on which we begin provision of the services. Refunds for orders cancelled under the provisions of the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations will be processed in accordance with your legal rights.
Delivery charges will usually only be refundable in the case of faulty or damaged goods or where the incorrect product has been received. Customers must explicitly request to cancel the contract under the Distance Selling Regulations (within 7 days of receiving your order) to receive a refund on delivery. We are unable to provide a refund of the delivery charges where only part your order is being cancelled.
Liability
- We reserve the right to accept, refuse, or limit your order for any reason, including, but not limited to: credit review; the unavailability of a product or errors in pricing or product descriptions posted on the website or elsewhere.
- We will accept no liability for personal expenses incurred either directly or indirectly from your Orientique purchase or its delivery. This includes claims for personal time, telephone calls and incidentals.
- Our total liability in contract, tort (including negligence or breach of statutory duty), misrepresentation, restitution or otherwise, arising in connection with the performance or contemplated performance of your order shall be limited to the purchase price of the goods purchased only.
Title and Risk
- Risk or damage to or loss of the Products shall pass to the Buyer upon delivery.
- Ownership of the goods will only pass to you when we receive full payment of all sums due in respect of the goods, including delivery charge.
Product Guarantee
- We endeavour to provide Orientique products which are made to the highest standards. Quality control checks are made throughout the manufacturing process but due to the handcrafted nature of our products every item can be different.
- All our products are designed for residential use and we cannot guarantee their performance in a commercial environment.
- Where products do not perform to expected quality standards we offer the following guarantees.
Accessories
- Return any unwanted/faulty items with your receipt/returns form within 14 days of receiving the goods. Providing the item(s) are still in a completely saleable condition and in their original packaging, we will issue a full refund.
- Spare parts may be available to purchase separately if necessary but we cannot always guarantee their availability.
Security and Privacy Policy
Privacy
- Your privacy is important to us so we only use the information you provide about yourself when using our website to assist us in improving our service to you. We do not share this information with any 3rd party. We fully comply with UK DATA PROTECTION AND CONSUMER LEGISLATION.
- We use return email addresses to verify your order and to confirm and to advice that the goods requested have been dispatched. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties without your explicit consent.
Data Protection
- To comply with the Data Protection Act 1998 we are required to inform you that we have recorded your name and address on our computer system for the sole purpose of processing your order. Please let us know if you object to us keeping this information by contacting Customer Services and we will unsubscribe you at any time.
- We use your information only for the following purposes:
- Processing your orders;
- For statistical or survey purposes to improve this website and its services to you.
- If you consent we will keep you up to date with news and offers that may be of interest to you.
- To administer this website.
- You agree that you do not object to us contacting you for any of these purposes whether by telephone, e-mail or in writing and you confirm that you do not and will not consider any of the above as being a breach of any of your rights under the PRIVACY AND ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS REGULATIONS 2003.

- A cookie is an alphanumeric identifier which we transfer to your hard drive through your web browser when you visit our website. It enables our own system to recognise you when you visit our website again and improve our service to you.
- Cookies may also be used to compile aggregate information about areas of our website that are visited most frequently. This traffic information can be used to enhance the content of our website and make your use of it easier.
- We do not track which pages you look at whilst visiting our website.

- Please remember, cookies do not contain confidential information such as your home address, telephone number or credit card details.

- You acknowledge and agree that all copyright, trademarks and all other intellectual property rights in all material or content supplied as part of this website shall remain at all times vested in us or our licensors. You are permitted to use this material only as expressly authorised by us or our licensors.
- You acknowledge and agree that the material and content contained within this website is made available for your personal non-commercial use only and that you may (if necessary to make a purchase on this website) download such material and content onto only one computer hard drive for such purpose.
- Any other use of the material and content of this website is strictly prohibited. You agree not to (and agree not to assist or facilitate any third party to) copy, reproduce, transmit, publish, display, distribute, commercially exploit or create derivative works of such material and content.
Law and Jurisdiction
The laws of England and Wales govern these Terms and Conditions and all disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Our Trading policy does not affect your statutory rights.
